Start the Day with Play: 5 Games to Connect with Your Child

Once the school year begins, it may be hard to fit in special time with just you and your child. Between school, homework and afterschool activities, demanding schedules often leave little time for bonding. In order to find that time, consider starting your day off with a fun, play activity. These simple activities will give you special time with your child and can easily be fit into a morning routine.

    Follow the Leader Take a few minutes to play follow the leader around the house as your child is getting ready. The leader can even lead through the morning routine activities such as brushing teeth, eating breakfast, packing a lunch or getting in the car.

    I Spy Challenge your child to game of I Spy as you enjoy breakfast or drive to school. Set a new challenge for the game by having your child include new vocabulary words in their descriptions and stretch their creativity by requiring an object never be repeated.
